Seven Men Investing is all about using our capital and time to support and enable the success of other people’s ventures that contribute to the common good.
What we look for:
We limit our funding to £2,000 / investment currently. We’re looking for 1) ventures that contribute to the common good 2) people passionate about what they are doing 3) credible proposals 4) local proposals (we don’t usually fund outside of Edinburgh).

Existing investment:
We currently have one investment, via our holding in Elixir Incubation Ltd, in a very exciting software company based in the North West of England. Chirange Technologies is a software business with a command and control application, selling into the fire, police and other emergency and crisis management services. It uses GPS tracking and Android tablets to enable on-site commanders to have a live read on a map with multiple features as to where each member of their team is at. Investing time
We have contributed time to a number of other ventures that are for the common good in differing ways. We don’t own these projects / businesses, and we would not claim any credit or ongoing involvement, but we see giving time and using what we have as a way of working out our mission:
- Seedbed, a guerilla faith based funding network
- Float, a new software business
- Elephant Soup Juice Company, a social business using a buy one, feeds two model with soup
- Plywood People - a community of social entrepreneurs in the US who are tackling the social problems of our day with innovation, design and projects.
- Praxis - a faith based accelerator programme for social entrepreneurs
- Restore - a community of Christians who want to bring good to Tollcross in Edinburgh
- Morningside Baptist Church – a church about bringing transformation to the city
